Copenhagen Travel Guide: Where to Stay, Eat, Shop + What Not to Miss

Copenhagen doesn’t shout for your attention. It rewards travelers who slow down, notice details, and appreciate restraint. We visited in April, when the city felt alive but not busy, and spent four full days walking, shopping, and hopping trains out to the coast.

This guide is for travelers who value design, food, and intentional experiences over checklists.

Where to Eat

Dining Highlights

  • The Olive Kitchen & Bar - quaint and scrumptious. The service was outstanding and the wine, salad and salmon entree was even better.

  • Sticks & Sushi - we visited the original location on Nansensgade and experienced an evening of sampling delectable sushi.

  • Paere Cocktail Bar in 1 Hotel - this is not your typical hotel bar. Surrounded by greenery, enthusiastic bartenders and lively sounds, we enjoyed botanical cocktails and next level bar bites. I am not a red meat person, but my husband said it was the best burger in Denmark and possibly the best burger he had ever eaten.
